Channel Tunnel Boring Machine Excavation
The following picutres were taken during the excavation of an abandoned Channel tunnel Boring machine. The Tunnel Boring machine was manufactured in 1921 by D.Whittaker of Leicester, and weighed in at 31 Tonnes once removed. The Boring machine has been fully restored and can be seen at the Channel Tunnel Exhibition Centre, Cheriton, Folkestone, Kent.
